Informations Regarding Pregnancy Test!

If a married woman is ever asked for her most desirable wish, its definite that the answer would be to become a loving mother. In order to check whether she is pregnant or not,the pregnancy tests plays a pivotal role.

So What is the Importance of  Pregnancy Tests?

Pregnancy Tests helps to find out whether a woman is pregnant or not.The indications of pregnancy are found in Urine and Blood. They contain a hormone called hCG  that is Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is otherwise known as the pregnancy hormone.Ok..so when is hCG produced? It happens when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus happens after the egg and sperm unite, around 6 days. The hCG present builds up at a higher rate in the body as the day passes by while you are pregnant.

The Pregnancy Tests are divided into 2 Types:

The first case - Usually done by the doctor ie checks for the hormone ,hCG in the blood.
The second case - Checks the urine for the hCG hormone.

The blood tests can be categorized into 2.

     1.QUALITATIVE
In this type of tests, whether HCG hormone is present or not, that is measured.

     2.QUANTITATIVE
In this type of tests, the amount of HCG present is measured.

Any idea about HPTs???

They are nothing but Home Pregnancy Test!HPTs are available in drugstores and they are inexpensive. There are a wide range of HPTs and In most cases, the cost depends upon the brand and the total number of tests that come inside the box.The procedure to follow differs such as in
one method, the user needs to hold a stick in the Urine Stream and in another method, the urine is collected in a cup and the stick is dipped into it.Wait for few minutes and there you go-if there is a line or plus symbol be ready to get excited - Yes , that indicates-YOU ARE PREGNANT!!!

The HPTs can be regarded as quite accurate and that depends upon the following:

  • How you use them?
  • Who uses them?
  • When you use them???

Male Infertility - Causes and Diagnosis

Reproduction is a simple and natural experience for most couples. But reports shows that in case of some couples it is very difficult to conceive. Approximately 15 percent of couples are infertile. It means they are not able to conceive a child even though they have had frequent, unprotected sexual intercourse for a year or longer. In about half of these couples the problems are arising due to male infertility.

This could be because of low sperm production, abnormal sperm function or blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. Also illnesses, injuries, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices and other factors may lead to male infertility. However the main causes of male infertility can be classified in to either problems in manufacturing sperm or problems in getting sperm outside of the body (ejaculation of viable sperm).

The diagnosis starts with comprehensive semen analysis in order to analyse the sperm problems. This test will evaluate the semen against fertility standards. A further evaluation involving a blood karyotype will further assist to determine if there is a genetic abnormality in the male causing lack of sperm manufacturing. After a thorough history and physical examination of the male partner, the specialist might perform an ultrasound of the testicle, a dye test (vasogram) of the male reproductive tract, and possibly a biopsy of the testicle.

Treatment of male fertility can differ with respect to condition of the patient. Treatment option varies from intrauterine inseminations to in vitro fertilization (IVF) with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

The inability to conceive a child can be stressful and frustrating, but now a days there are lots of possible diagnosing methods to treat male infertility. At ARMC, we take the time to listen, to find answers and to provide you the best care.
